You must select on grand prize to compete for. By playing for a single prize, you have the fewest competitors to best in order to win the prize. You may select a different grand prize if you would like to reregister.
Win one or two flights around the Moon. You would get to ride in two different space ships and in the International Space Station. We will also award four million frequent flier miles.
The mission would be designed, then conducted according to the principles described in Constellation Services International’s Lunar ExpressSM transportation system. In one scenario, the mission would likely use a special version of the Soyuz modified for flight around the Moon. The Soyuz would first dock for six months at the International Space Station (ISS) to be used as the stand-by crew escape vehicle. Just before the six months elapse, the Free Space Shot tournament winner would embark on another Soyuz to fly to the ISS. Each flight has a retail value of $100 million and a winner will get an additional $50 million for a single flight or $100 million for a flight for two.
An upper stage and logistics module would then be launched to an orbit near the ISS. The winner and other participants and crew would then transfer to the Luna-bound Soyuz, dock with the upper stage and logistics module and do something only two dozen people have ever done: personally see the far side of the Moon and return safely to the Earth.
The earliest the winner would be able to fly around the Moon would be approximately three years after winning the Free Space Shot tournament.
Winners will travel to orbit aboard the Kistler K-1. The Kistler K-1 just won a $207 million award to help encourage orbital commerce. This reusable vehicle is in development for the next few years. The Kistler K-1 will fly cargo repeatedly before being certified for human flight. When it is ready, this US-developed space ship will be a competitor to the Soyuz space ship from Russia that is sold out until 2009.
Win a flight to space on the Rocketplane XP from Rocketplane Ltd., Inc. Go 100 kilometers into space and cross the international boundary of outer space. See the ultimate vista. Fly at three times the speed of sound and experience three times the force of gravity. Float weightless in zero g for nearly five minutes. Winners also get a $100,000 scholarship or cash if graduated.
Win upon turning 18, players get $300,000 toward a college education at the school of their choice. The balance can be used to pay for law school or medical school or be paid in cash if graduated.
Win an airplane flight where you experience Mars gravity, Lunar gravity and finally zero-g. Flights will be provided by No Gravity Corporation which flies out of its home base in Fort Lauderdale Florida and many other special events around the United States.
